Six months before the pandemic, British music platform Generation W was struggling to get more than twenty people in a room for its female-led shows.

Six years later the platform has seen thousands attend Generation W events, with over one hundred women performing live, everywhere from New York to London, Paris to Stockholm.

Worldwide is the new book for Generation W by Nick Donnelly, a former music video director and filmmaker who has interviewed musicians responsible for over 100 million records sold.

Set across over 20 hours of in-depth interviews with 20 women in music from every continent, recorded throughout this decade, Worldwide is not a book about fame, but about what happens when you dream from modest environments, and the world pays attention.

It speaks to the ambitions and successes of women in music changing the world, while honouring the women of the past who did the same, often without recognition.

From Indian musicians selling out some of the most famous jazz venues in the world, to British and American artists who have sold millions of records and are now independent, this is not just a story for musicians, and not just for women.
