Generation W is making our live music show debut in Manchester and bringing to the city a very special live performances from two of Manchester's most incredible soul and RnB musicians: LUSAINT and MALI HAYES. This upcoming show in the heart of Manchester city centre is an event that will go down in history and we invite you to join us in celebrating the city, and women, of Manchester.
Generation W began in 2019 as a book featuring 100 women writing uncensored about living through 100 years since women began to receive the vote in the UK. Manchester, the home of the suffragette movement, inspired the original book and featured some amazing women from Manchester writing in the book including Commonwealth boxing champion Stacey Copeland, legendary Hacienda DJ - DJ Paulette, Battle Rapper and Afflecks shop owner Joy France, Northern Power Women CEO Simone Roche MBE, and others, as well as of course Helen Pankhurst, the great-granddaughter of suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst.
Generation W live was launched in London in March 2023 with a sold out show at The Troubadour where musicians such as Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Adele, Ed Sheeran and many more. By popular demand we returned to The Troubadour in London and with an artist from Manchester called Lusaint headlining, and now we are excited to bring to the city of Manchester a very special hometown show with Lusaint on Wednesday 11th October at Soup in the Northern Quarter.
Lusaint is an enigmatic artist from greater Manchester whose music is played by hundreds of thousands of people all over the world a month online and across BBC Radio 1 and other stations, but Lusaint herself rarely performs live.
Previous Lusaint shows include performing at a castle in Scotland for the fashion brand Dior and headlining at the legendary The Troubadour in London for Generation W, a venue where Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Adele, Ed Sheeran and many more have played. Every show Lusaint performs is designed to be as timeless and iconic as the music she makes..
Also performing at Generation W x Manchester is Mali Hayes, an acclaimed soul musician from the area who features in issue 2 of Generation W's Wearth Magazine alongside other musicians from Manchester such as The KTNA, LayFullStop, Victoria Jane, OneDa and more.
This very special and intimate exclusive live music show by Lusaint and Manchester is part of the first ever UK tour by Generation W, a groundbreaking music platform designed to bring authentic and intimate performances from the greatest women led artists in the world that has collaborated in over 25 countries.
