GENERATION W LIVE first began in 2021 when it was the first event to re-open the historic music venue The Cluny in Newcastle, an event which featured 3 of the best female led local artists in Newcastle performing to a special intimate audience.
After launching Generation W in London earlier this year with a sold out show at the legendary British music venue The Troubadour where artists such as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and many more got their first breaks in the UK, British music platform Generation W is coming back to The Cluny on Wednsday 4th October putting on a live show featuring some of the most exciting women led artists in the North East once more.
Originally a book in the UK featuring 100 leading women such as Olympic champions, Dames, Rock musicians who have sold 50 million records, and many more writing uncensored within it, Generation W has since grown at venues across London to become an important live music experience that celebrates the power and honesty of women in music who play raw and unique interpretations of their music in historic music venues, giving the audience a space to see music as the timeless art it is intended to be made. Previous collaborators with Generation W include Nova Twins, Girli, STORRY, and many more.
The Cluny is seen as one of the best independent music venues in the North of England, with artists such as Artic Monkeys, Kate Nash, Mumford & Sons and many more playing there.
